Frequently asked questions

No travel passes or add-ons are needed with Google Fi Wireless. As long as you are on the Unlimited Premium or Flexible plan, your phone will automatically connect to a local partner network as soon as you arrive at your destination.

With the Unlimited Premium plan, high-speed international data is included at no extra cost in over

200 destinations
.

On the Flexible plan, international data costs the same as it does at home: just $10 per GB. There are no extra fees for international coverage.

On the Unlimited Standard plan, data is included for Canada and Mexico.

On Unlimited Essentials, international data coverage is not available. You can also switch to Unlimited Premium anytime to access international data in 200+ destinations.

You must have active Fi service in the US (not including territories) before you go abroad in order to access international coverage. You cannot activate Fi for the first time while abroad.

Important: The

Terms of Service
require you to activate and use Google Fi service mainly in the United States (not including territories) for at least one day before using Google Fi abroad. Yes, Unlimited Standard, Unlimited Premium, and Flexible plans all include data, calls, and texts within Canada and Mexico.

Beyond Canada and Mexico, unlimited international texting is included in our Unlimited Premium and Flexible plans.

Voice calls made over the cellular network while traveling abroad are typically 20 cents per minute on Unlimited Premium, Unlimited Standard and Flexible plans.

Wi-Fi calling is also available on the Unlimited Premium, Unlimited Standard and Flexible plans at

affordable per-minute rates
depending on the country.

International roaming is available for Unlimited Premium and Flexible subscribers. Simply ensure your phone’s data roaming setting is turned "on" in your device settings, and your phone will connect automatically when you land.
