What is web calls and messages?
Web calls and messages allow you to make calls, send texts with full RCS support for high-res media, and check your voicemail directly from a web browser on your computer or tablet.
What devices are compatible?
Web calls and messages are available for users with a primary Android phone. This feature does not currently support iPhone® users at this time. All computers and tablets with a modern web browser like Google Chrome are compatible. There is no need to download a separate application.
Does my phone need to be turned on or connected to the internet?
Yes. For web messages to work, your Android phone needs to be powered on and have either a Wi-Fi or data connection. For web calls, your phone can be turned off. Your computer or tablet also need to have an active internet connection.
Are my messages and calls secure?
Yes. All of your conversations are protected with Google's security. For messages with other Android users, your eligible RCS conversations are end-to-end encrypted, ensuring that no one, not even Google, can read their content.
Can I use this feature outside of the U.S.?
Yes, you can access your calls and messages from the web anywhere you have an internet connection. International rates for calls will apply just as they would from your phone.
Is there an extra cost for using this feature?
No. Web calls and messages is a core feature of your Google Fi Wireless plan and is included at no additional cost. Calls and texts sent from the web will work the same as they do from your phone under your current plan.
